"KYC" (Know Your Customer) is a term used for the customer identification process to determine the true identity, beneficial ownership of accounts, source of funds, and the nature of your business. This also helps provide security against all kinds of frauds. The Reserve Bank of India has issued guidelines under Section 35A of the Banking Regulation Act to carry out KYC for all merchants accepting payments through offline and online mediums. -
WHAT TYPE OF KYC DOCUMENTS ARE NEEDED TO GET AN ACCOUNT?
KYC documents are required on two aspects: one for establishing identity and another for establishing the present residential address. The documents needed differ depending on the type of company/account (e.g., Individuals, Companies, Partnership Firms, Trusts & Foundations, and Proprietorship Concerns). -

WILL I GET NOTIFICATIONS FOR THE TRANSACTIONS?
Definitely. You’ll receive notifications for every order that has been successfully processed or failed using Paysmart Bharat. -
HOW WILL I OR MY CUSTOMER KNOW IF THE TRANSACTION IS SUCCESSFUL?
Once the payment process is over, Paysmart Bharat will send an email with the payment status. At the end of the transaction, both you and the customer can easily determine whether the payment was successful or failed. You can also access detailed transaction information by logging into your Paysmart Bharat account. -
CAN I ORDER/REQUEST A HARD COPY OF THE TRANSACTION REPORT?
We prioritize environmental sustainability, so we encourage using digital copies of order reports sent via email or available in the merchant interface. However, you can print the reports if needed by logging into the Paysmart Bharat merchant interface. -
WHAT ARE THE COMPONENTS OF TRANSACTION REPORTS?
The transaction report sent via email includes a summary of sales, refunds, chargebacks, transaction fees, service taxes, and the amount payable to your bank account. Detailed reports provide more information like order date, order amount, merchant order ID, Paysmart Bharat order ID, card type, service charges, and taxes. These reports can also be downloaded from the merchant interface. -
IN WHICH BANK ACCOUNT WILL I GET MY PAYOUT OF ORDERS RECEIVED USING Paysmart Bharat?
You’ll receive payouts to the bank account registered or mapped with your Paysmart Bharat account. -
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE THE PAYOUT OF ORDERS RECEIVED USING Paysmart Bharat?
The payout will be remitted to your merchant bank account within ____ working days from the order reconciliation date. -
WHAT IF I PROVIDE WRONG ACCOUNT DETAILS TO Paysmart Bharat?
Paysmart Bharat is not responsible if you provide incorrect bank account details. It’s your responsibility to ensure the accuracy of your account information. Money transferred to the wrong account cannot be recovered, and it is up to the merchant to work with the bank to retrieve the funds. -
CAN I ASK Paysmart Bharat TO HOLD MY PAYOUT IF I HAVE ISSUES WITH MY BANK ACCOUNT?
Yes, Paysmart Bharat can hold your payout upon request. The amount will accumulate in your merchant account until you instruct us to release it. -
CAN I REQUEST A CASH OR CHECK PAYMENT FOR THE PAYOUT?
No. In compliance with RBI mandates, Paysmart Bharat will only process payouts via NEFT—direct account transfer. Payouts must be completed within ____ working days from the transaction date. -
HOW WILL TRANSACTION FEES BE DEDUCTED?
The payout amount is net of Paysmart Bharat transaction fees, which are deducted from each order before the payout is made. You don’t need to worry about paying the fees separately. -
HOW CAN I CHECK THE CHARGES DEDUCTED BY Paysmart Bharat FROM MY PAYOUT?
Paysmart Bharat maintains full transparency regarding fees. A detailed report of payout and charges is sent via email and is available in the Merchant Admin portal. -
CAN I CANCEL OR REFUND A CUSTOMER’S PAYMENT?
Yes, you can request Paysmart Bharat to refund any successful transaction. The refund will be processed within ____ business days. -
WHAT IF I CANCEL OR REFUND THE WRONG ORDER? CAN I GET THE MONEY BACK?
No, once refunded, the money cannot be reversed. You would need to ask the customer to repay or transfer the funds again. -
ARE THERE ANY CHARGES FOR REFUNDS OR ORDER CANCELLATIONS?
No, refunds or cancellations on Paysmart Bharat are free of charge. Simply process the refund via Paysmart Bharat to avail of the zero-cost benefit. -
HOW DO I IDENTIFY FRAUDULENT TRANSACTIONS?
It is important to verify every online order. For suspicious orders, you can contact the customer and request proof of identity and bank/card statements. Paysmart Bharat also monitors transactions and will notify you of any abnormal activity.
